WHO WE AREBackcountry Broadcasts is a multimedia project, created by Arizona State University seniors Ariella Nardizzi and Kyla Pearce, that aims to empower women in the great outdoors.
This platform serves to inspire, encourage and appreciate women in the wilderness through photography, personal stories and more. Through our passion for the outdoors, we're incorporating our own female experience with the voices of others to bring light to the importance of gender inclusivity in the backcountry. Live from the trail, we bring you Backcountry Broadcasts. |
OUR RIM2RIM ADVENTURE
GRAND CANYON, ARIZONA
In October 2020, we embarked on a backpacking trip from the North Rim to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, covering 24 miles and 10,000 feet of elevation change in under two days. This challenging trek served as the foundation for our project about female empowerment in the outdoors, inspiring us to share not only our story as experienced women in the wilderness, but to give a voice to others as well.

I, AS A FEMALE, AM JUST AS STRONG, JUST AS CAPABLE, IF NOT MORE, THAN MY MALE COUNTERPARTS...I KNOW THAT FOR A FACT." |
